mindfulness

The way I understand mindfulness is a complete awareness of what IS in any given moment. When we are mindful, we are not focused on past or future or worry or anger; there is an observation of the things present and presented to us, now.

Mindfulness practice begins right where we are; stopping activity (or mind chatter), breathing and observing what Is. Practice takes us from the hustle and busyness of the outer world to a reflection of inner Isness.

There are as many ways to practice mindfulness as there are to observe and breathe. Some do it with intention to practice in the moment they remember and some start with meditation as a foundation for mindfulness throughout the day.

Be aware of the trap of thinking that10-15 minutes of meditation a day substitutes for the basic practice of mindfulness in the Moment.. this is where mindfulness matters most.. not in the daily sitting of meditation, but the practice in the moment.

Mindfulness.... Stop the activities... breathe and observe what Is...
